Peachtree City Municipal Court is held each Wednesday at City
Hall, 151 Willowbend Road (click here for directions). Court begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and
1:00 p.m. Court dates and times are printed on the citation. All persons entering
the courtroom are subject to search.
If you intend to pay your citation before your court date,
providing it's a citation that can be paid prior to court, or if you need to reschedule
your court date, you have until 1:00 P.M. THE DAY BEFORE your court date to pay.
The Court Clerk's office is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The following offenses must be
handled by an appearance in court:
- Operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol
or drugs.
- Any offense involving an accident with injuries and ambulance
transport.
- Leaving the scene of an accident.
- Racing on streets or highways.
- Fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer.
- Passing a school bus.
- Driving without insurance or without proof of insurance.
- Any offense that may result in the suspension of driving
privileges, to include suspendable offenses under the Georgia Teenage Driver's
Responsibility Act.
- Minor in possession of alcohol
- Furnishing alcohol to a minor
If you do not appear for court and a
continuance has not been previously arranged, a warrant for your arrest may be issued and
your drivers license will be suspended by the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety (DMVS).

- AGGRESSIVE DRIVING - 6 POINTS
- RECKLESS DRIVING - 4 POINTS
- UNLAWFUL PASSING OF A SCHOOL BUS - 6 POINTS
- IMPROPER PASSING ON A HILL OR CURVE - 4 POINTS
- SPEEDING MORE THAN 14 AND LESS THAN 19 - 2 POINTS
- SPEEDING MORE THAN 19 AND LESS THAN 24 - 3 POINTS
- SPEEDING MORE THAN 24 AND LESS THAN 34 - 4 POINTS
- SPEEDING MORE THAN 34 - 6 POINTS
- DISOBEDIENCE OF ANY TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE - 3 POINTS
- POSSESSING OPEN CONTAINER OF ALCOHOL WHILE DRIVING - 2
POINTS
- FAILURE TO SECURE LOAD, RESULTING IN LOSS OF LOAD ON ROADWAY -
2 POINTS
- VIOLATION OF CHILD SAFETY RESTRAINT, 1st OFFENSE -
1 POINT
- VIOLATION OF CHILD SAFETY RESTRAINT, 2nd OFFENSE -
2 POINTS
- ALL OTHER MOVING VIOLATIONS - 3 POINTS
You cannot receive more than 15
points within a 24-month period or you will have your license suspended for points.
