Advance voting allows any registered voter to cast a ballot IN PERSON at the County Elections Office during normal business hours on the Monday through Friday of the week prior to an election. ABSENTEE VOTING IN THE ELECTIONS OFFICE
Voter must complete absentee ballot application and provide a reason for voting absentee. New law: No in office absentee voting allowed on Monday, July 17. ABSENTEE VOTING BY MAIL The Fayette County Elections Office will mail ballots as soon as they are delivered by the printer. Voter may fax application to 770-460-7579 or mail application to: Elections Office, Suite 208, 140 Stonewall Avenue West, Fayetteville, GA 30214. Voter is not required to provide a reason for voting absentee. Application may be downloaded and printed at www.sos.state.ga.us/elections/elections/voter_information/absentee.htm . When is the best time to go to the polls to avoid having to wait in long lines? Peak voting hours appear to be from 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m., 4:30 p.m. until 7:00 pm, and during the mid-day lunch hour. Are sample ballots available prior to the election? Yes. Sample ballots are available through your county or municipal registrar's office. Voters are authorized to carry a sample ballot or list of selected candidates with them to the polls to aid them in voting their ballot. You may not share the sample ballot or candidate list with other voters at the polls, but you may use it for your benefit. Where can I obtain additional information?
