Residential Burning Permits
BEFORE CONTINUING, PLEASE REVIEW THE REGULATIONS AND CHOOSE "I ACCEPT" OR "I DECLINE" BELOW.
In accordance with Peachtree City Ordinance Section 42-45, the following regulations shall be adhered to when conducting any outdoor burning.
Only normal combustibles such as wood, paper and other combustibles may be burned. Under no circumstances can any of the following be burned; They include but are not limited to shingles, PVC, insulation, treated lumber, adhesives, paint, and garbage.
No hydrocarbons; (gasoline, diesel fuel etc.) may be used to start or fuel any fire.
Burning must be kept safely away from any structure (50 feet if possible) or contained in a drum.
Burning must be attended at all times and there must be an adequate means of controlling the fire.
Fire must be out one (1) hour before dusk or prior to leaving the site.
Fire must be kept small (not larger than 75 cubic feet), and there should be no more than one (1) burn pile on any lot of one (1) acre or less.
Outdoor / controlled burning if determined to be a nuisance or health hazard will be ordered to be extinguished.
Failure to follow these guideline may result in a court citation being issued.
Burning for the purposes of large land developments is not allowed inside the city limits.
Bon fires must be permitted in person at the Peachtree City Fire Department.
*This process is not required for: outdoor cooking, outdoor recreational fire pits and chimineas, and construction site warming fires; conditions must be under 50 degrees and must be contained in a drum
